I am a lecturer at UCL's Dutch department. Having a bit of a background in both, history and computing, I have worked on and across the borders of humanities and communication technologies for most of my professional life. I have published on Belgian, Dutch and German history as well as on distance education and information studies. I also serve as chief editor of Dutch Crossing: Journal of Low Countries Studies which in December 2009 has been awarded an honourable mention in the Phoenix Prize for Significant Editorial Achievement by the Council of Editors of Learned Journals. Since 2009 I am an Associate Director of the UCL Centre for Digital Humanities and currently hold a development grant within the individual strand of the UK Open Educational Resources programme of JISC and the HE Academy.
