Oľga Willett teaches Slovak and Czech at the UCL School of Slavonic and East European Studies in London. She graduated from Comenius University in Bratislava with a PhDr. in Linguistics. She taught Slovak at Studia Academica Slovaca (the language course at Comenius University) and Italian at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava.
Since moving to England, she has been teaching languages, and creating bespoke teaching materials for adult students from diverse backgrounds in a range of fields including: International Relations, Law, Finance and Economics.
She has been a member of several examination boards which included setting exams according to the European Framework of Reference for Languages for all levels and all tasks.
She has translated of a number of French, Italian and English films for Slovak Television and the experience she gained from that, she used in her role as a tutor of MA Translation at Middlesex University and at the BBC World Service.
She is currently participating in the FAVOR project (Finding a Voice through Open Resources) together with her colleagues from SSEES.
